Wil Johnson
Wil Johnson brings over 30 years of experience in service to others through communication, leadership, education, and conflict management / resolution. Serving as a medic in the U.S. Army developed the mentality to do his job as if someone's life depended on it. This focus has been instrumental for his work with students, families, staff, and communities to support student achievement and well-being. His experience also includes being a special education teacher, coach for debate and football, behavior interventionist, consultant, and district administrator in multiple roles.
As a bridge-builder and coach, Wil believes his true calling is helping people get from where they are to where they want to be, and he brings that passion into everything he does. This has always meant listening and actively working to understand motivation, vision, and values. Getting clarity in these areas is key to propelling ourselves to overcome any obstacles in our lives, and Wil's calm, observant style creates space for leaders to engage in this vital work.
After 15 years as an educator and administrator in K-12 schools, Wil now works at the county level, bringing people together across different sectors to support thriving communities. He also serves in an advisory role for a selection of local community leadership organizations. In addition, he hosts a podcast (At-Homish) where he invites guests to share their experiences with belonging and how they work to ensure all feel seen, heard, and valued.

Meet the Team
With 330+ years of combined experience in leadership and communications, J.Marie & Associates is on a mission to empower public leaders and organizations to forge deeper, more meaningful connections with the communities they serve.
We will walk through new standards for serving the whole school community and share an overview of one district’s four-year strategy to implement them.
In 2022, the Professional Educators Standards Board released standards for districts in creating equal education opportunity for all students. Due to the depth of the standards, our implementation plan involved focusing on one area per year and working to build the collective capacity of our teams. This workshop will introduce participants to the standards and provide resources and indicators for each area.
