Free Friday Lunchtime Workshop: August, Giving & Receiving Feedback Under Stress

Giving & Receiving Feedback Under Stress

Our ability to listen and communicate well suffers under stress, but creating conditions where feedback is freely given and received is a foundational leadership skill necessary for any team to function at high levels.

Feedback often makes us cringe for a couple of reasons: we tend to compartmentalize it into annual events like performance evaluations or community surveys, which can lead to an overwhelming amount of information, and we fear hearing negative feedback. In this course, we’ll reframe feedback (it really is a gift!), and discuss ways to make giving and receiving feedback less painful.

Join veteran school communications strategist and founder of J.Marie & Associates, J.Marie to explore practical methods to navigate sensitive conversations effectively. You’ll learn how to focus on growth and development while offering constructive criticism, fostering trust, and maintaining positive working relationships, particularly when stress makes these skills more challenging.

Note: this workshop is scheduled mid-August so you can open this session up for your cabinet or leadership team to join you.

When: Friday, August 14th, 12 - 1 pm, Pacific
